Space Time Agency in association with Sluice__ at the Averard Hotel (Slate Projects)

Quid pro quo means roughly “this for that”, a mutual exchange of services or goods. If you’re a performance artist or performance-art adjacent, join us at the Averard Hotel for a peer-to-peer trade. None of us have much money, so why don’t we share to get some of the things we need?

Want feedback on a work in progress, somebody to sew a costume or construct something, photographs or video of your performance, some software magic, want to learn or teach a skill, maybe even get someone to help you fill in a grant, commission proposal or job application? You’ll get up to an hour for whatever you need from a fellow artist, in return for giving up to an hour of your time to help somebody else. Various spaces available, but please note that they are all upstairs on the first floor in a disused space, and therefore unfortunately they may not be accessible to a person who can’t do stairs.

There are only two simple rules and one semi-rule:

1. No spectators (except for spectators): Members of the public may be watching what you do some or all of the time, and anyone can just come along to watch, but if you want something done you must do something in return.

2. Leave no trace: you must be able to get yourself in and out quickly, on your own.This means bringing any materials or equipment you need to help and be helped, and everyone taking everything away with them afterwards. No liquids or anything else that would damage the interior or structure of the building, nothing that would be unpleasant, time consuming or dangerous for you or anybody else to clear up.

1⁄2. You probably need to be based in London, or able to reach Hyde Park reasonably cheaply because this is meant to be about not being out of pocket, right?
